Jessie is a Fredericton, New Brunswick based textile artist specializing in weaving. Growing up in a family of craftspeople instilled in them a deep appreciation for textiles and the art of slow making. Jessie is a recent graduate of the Textile Design program at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design, where they refined their skills as a weaver and learned new techniques in dyeing, felting and spinning. They are inspired by the natural world, and strive to replicate its colours, patterns and textures. Sustainable consumption is at the core of their practice, and they believe that this can be achieved by recentering traditional textile fabrication.
